Gandalf framework

The GANDALF module (FPF 330) is a 6U VME64x/VXS module (233 x 160mm). It features two slots for signal-entry-cards and one slot for a clock/trigger-interface-card.Data is transferred from the mezzanine cards to the central Virtex-5 FPGA, for online processing. The memory management is performed by another Virtex-5 FPGA. It accesses a 144 Mbit QDR II-Memory and a 4 GB DDR2-Memory. Besides, it serves as a buffer (FIFO) for data, until it is sent over the S-Link-interface to the DAQ. The FPGAs are connected to each other by serial high speed links. There are a total of 16 Aurora-lanes, each of them with a data rate of 3.125 Gbit/s.
