FPGA processing

 

The central FPGA is a Xilinx Virtex5 XCVSX951. Possessing 60.000 Flip-Flops and 8 MBit Block-RAM it has enough space to implement superior algorithms. At this juncture, the data processing can reach clock-frequences up to 500 MHz. Additionally the FPGA possesses 640 DSP3-Slices, which are used to achive several operations of signal processing eminently efficient. To process pulse shape data, time- and amplitude-informations are extracted via DSP-filters.
